In three decades, Ron Oden has managed to illustrate just about every existing thing on the planet: Baby buggies, can openers, roast beefs (really!), anything, either living or inanimate! This artist truly has illustrated everything in every industry! Oden has illustrated stories, catalogs of electronic parts, science and informational graphics, instruction diagrams, architectural renderings, cartoons, books, storyboards, people, animals, fantasy characters... everything, both traditionally, and digitally.
In the beginning of his career Ron tapped into his technical art skills to provide volumes of much needed renderings by the commercial art industry before the age of computer-generated art, when retail stores used to advertise their products on newsprint in black and white. Some of us are old enough to remember when retail outfits would advertise a tire for your car in the paper by showing you a fully detailed rendering in black and white, illustrated beautifully by an artist. Well, Ron was that guy! Years later, computer-generated art replaced the traditional method. Realizing that computers would be the "artist's brush" of the future, Oden adapted his talents to meet the requirements of the digital age by mastering the technology and seizing competitive advantage in his profession. Today, the artist can produce the same traditional illustrations digitally, while continuing to create and develop new, innovative computer-generated images, including photo-illustrations, for a demanding, contemporary world. |
